In order for you, and us, to work out whether mediation is suitable for your case we will invite you to a 30 minute assessment meeting, which will be conducted by one of our mediators. This will be your opportunity to ask us about anything that might be concerning you about the process itself and for us to ensure that we can address and safety or welfare issued.
We also use this meeting to assess whether you might be eligible for Legal Aid, which might cover some or all of your fees. You will need to bring some ID with you to the assessment meeting, as well as some financial information, usually:-
At the end of the meeting both you and the mediator should be able to decide if mediation is the best option for you. If it is, you can book your first session and if it isn’t, you simply go back to your solicitor for further advice.
The assessment meeting can be attended by both sides to a dispute, or by you both at separate times.Download our referral forms here >
