‘I was encouraged by colleagues to apply when a vacancy was announced in September,’ recalls Claire, who set up her pioneering firm, Mediation Now, in 2007, making it one of the very first in the UK. ‘I attended my first interview for many years on 5thNovember at the Royal Courts of Justice and was pleased to be appointed to the council.”
Claire will now be attending quarterly meetings and joining working parties exploring particular issues within family law for a minimum three year term.
‘The Family Justice Council does a tremendous amount of good work, one example being their championing of children in ‘Voice of the Child’, which I have admired for many years, so to be asked to be a part of such an impressive group is both exciting and flattering.’
